In the show Semper Amor, a Ilha em Bossa, Carolina presents new compositions that will be on her album and pays a true tribute to Santa Catarina music. The name Semper Amor, a Ilha em Bossa is inspired by the song Semper Amor, by Luiz Henrique Rosa, the ambassador of bossa nova in the south of the country.
Luiz Henrique's work has permeated mine since I started my
projects in French. This season I bring my own songs, those of other composers and Semper Amor, in the French-Portuguese version, which is also on my first EP - says the singer and songwriter.
Islander original music in the spotlight
The Florianopolitan music scene is diverse and rich. This was one of the reasons why Carolina Brum decided, in this show, to bring closer, in addition to her original songs, the songs of samba and bossa nova composers from the city.
- This project is connecting me with my roots, with Florianopolitan music, which has this samba, bossa nova feel, which I love. It's a musical city, with wonderful, high-level artists, and being immersed in this rich environment and bringing these composers so important to the Floripa scene closer is a privilege - says Carolina Brum.

The concert season of the show “Semper Amor, a Ilha em Bossa”, by singer and songwriter Carolina Brum, begins today. There will be 4 performances with original songs and songs by other composers on a tour of samba and bossa nova produced in Santa Catarina from Luiz Henrique Rosa (1938-1985) and Cláudio Alvim Barbosa, the poet Zininho (1929-1998) to contemporaries Orlando Mello Neco and Gandhi Martinez.
CAROLINA BRUM PRESENTS HER SONGS IN SHOW SEASON

Accompanied by a great band, with Rafael Calegari (bass and musical direction), Gustavo Lopes (seven-string guitar), Gandhi Martinez (piano), Alexandre Damaria (percussion) and Neno Moura (drums), Carolina pays homage to Santa Catarina music with this project, which is inspired by the song “Semper amor”, featured on the 1975 album “Mestiço”, Luiz Henrique’s masterpiece, which is also the name of the artist’s debut work, which should be released in the second half of the year. The EP began to be produced during the Covid-19 pandemic and will have seven tracks that move between samba, bossa nova and jazz.

In 2015, at the invitation of the French Alliance of Florianópolis, Carolina established a partnership with the institution and started to develop a repertoire dedicated to samba and bossa nova, rescuing beautiful versions in French.
From then on, his project became part of the Alliance Française concert program.
In 2015, the first edition was on the 60th anniversary of the French Alliance in Florianópolis.
Two years later, in 2018, the second edition took place at the Francophonie party at the school's headquarters in Florianópolis, accompanied by Gustavo Lopes on the seven-string guitar.
In 2019, at the opening of the Aliança Francesa Concerts, the Show Sambas et Bossas en Français was held at Teatro Pedro Ivo in Florianópolis, with the public very involved and moved by the project, which also featured three more shows in the interior of the state of Santa Catarina in the second half of that year, in addition to other parallel actions. The partnership continues to this day.
